Written Beauty justified her short odds today when she took out the Pierata @ Aquis In 2020 Two year Old Fillies Maiden. The daughter of leading stallion Written Tycoon made amends for her first up defeat by striding away for a six lengths victory and stoping the clock at 1:09.12. The filly began brilliantly and from that point she never gave her rivals a look in and when jockey Daniel Griffin asked her to quicken a the top of the straight she bounded clear for a very easy victory.

Winning Co Trainer Bryan Guy lamented on what might have been with the filly missing a start in the Group One JJ Atkins after she struggled to handle the heavy conditions at her first start which would have enabled her to take her place in the Group One event “We threw her in the deep end at her first start and if she had won then she would have run in the JJ but the heavy track put an end to that. So we thought just knock over the maiden and go from there, she could back up in the Dalrello next Saturday but she would have to do very well during the week for that to happen”

Daniel Griffin was having his first ride on Written Beauty today and is hopeful it won’t be his last with the jockey full of praise for the filly “That was a big win, not only the margin but what I felt she still had in reserve. She also did a couple of little things wrong and had a blow so there is big improvement. It’s not everyday you get to ride something like that and hopefully it won’t be my last ride on her”

Co Trainer Daniel Guy was thankful that Orbis Bloodstock had given the stable a chance to train not only this filly but many others which have recently joined the stable “It’s great to get another winner for Orbis today as they have given us a few horses of late and from only limited runners we have had a bit of luck. This filly is a lovely strong filly and it’s not often you get a horse like this walk through the gate and going by what she did today it won’t be the last time she visits the winners stall.”
