Broncks headed to Aquis Park at the Gold Coast Turf Club today to have his final race for his current connections and he didn’t let them down in taking out the Pink Ribbon Race Day 19th of September Benchmark 0-58 Handicap by a length and a quarter. The son of top Queensland stallion Better Than Ready showed his usual good gate speed to take the lead early in the race and from that point he was able to control the race and when asked to quicken by the jockey at the top of the straight he responded and put a winning break on his rivals.
Co Trainer Bryan Guy was pleased to see the gelding finally get a race run to Broncks’ liking and was happy to win another race with the horse after coming close on a few occasions since he broke his maiden nearly twelve months ago “It’s good to see him find the winners stall again today I was beginning to think we wouldn’t get another win out of him. His pattern is to roll forward and that makes him a sitting duck and he has been caught on the line a few times after having early pressure placed on him. I am so happy for the owners they are a great bunch of people.”
Broncks was ridden by Sheriden Tomlinson today and the jockey had put past experience on the horse to good use to put a winning plan together with Team Guy “I spoke to Bryan and Daniel before the race and we all agreed today was going to be his day, it looked like we would get a soft run in front and it worked out well. I know he is to be sold now and given the right area he will win more races.”
Today’s win couldn’t have come at a better time for Broncks with him entered for the Inglis Digital Sale this coming Wednesday and Co Trainer Daniel Guy was quick to point this out “He is entered for the Inglis Digital Sale on Wednesday and he is the perfect type of horse for a person looking to have a bit off fun, he is fit, up racing and ready to go right on with and he is in form so hopefully the owners get a good result and he delivers for whoever buys him.
