Too Viennese headed to the Sunshine Coast tonight looking to makeup for his unlucky debut start when he slipped out of the barriers and the son of All Too Hard put that setback behind him to score by an ever widening half a length margin with a further four lengths to the third horse. While things didn’t go as expected the gelding showed above average ability to burst through the middle of the field and hit the line and break his maiden in impressive style.

Winning Co Trainer Bryan Guy was happy to see the way Too Viennese hit the line but was a little surprised to see him settle as far back as he did in the run “I thought he would be about fifth or sixth in running but that wasn’t the case but I was never really worried because we sit him in his work and he always hits the line well. Also Michael is one of the best judges of pace in the game so I knew they must have been going hard up front and that was going to give us a chance to finish off.”

Michael Rodd was happy to see the gelding jump better today after slipping out of the barriers at his debut start and was happy to hear pre race that the horse had trained on well since his first up run “I was happy to hear both Bryan and Daniel report before the race that the horse had worked well from his first start where a couple of things went wrong and he didn’t handle the track. He is a nice horse which is still very raw so with further maturity he will develop into a better then handy horse.”

Too Viennese is another nice progressive Three Year Old that Team Guy have in work and Co Trainer Daniel Guy explained after the event that the stable is in a good position at the moment with some nice types “It’s great to see the Three Year Old’s of the stable really standing up and showing good potential and tonight’s winner is another nice horse. He still has to mature and fill into his body but it looks like Orbis Bloodstock have another horse that can go on and win some nice races.”
