Feb 25, 2017

Biagiotti scored an all the way win when leading throughout to win the Jeanette Wilson Memorial Handicap at the Gold Coast Turf Club this afternoon. The daughter of Choisir proved too strong for her rivals in today’s event. Winning rider Jag Guthmann –Chester showed experience beyond his years by showing his intention to lead upon jumping from the barriers and this decision proved a winning one with the mare able to attain easy sectionals during the middle stages of the event, “Bryan and Daniel told me that if I bounced her out and was able to get a cheap lead then she would be too strong in the straight and they were right, she is not a bad mare this one when the races are run to suit”.

Winning Co Trainer Bryan Guy was full of praise for Jag commenting after the race “you could not have asked for a better ride today as Jag did everything we asked of him, and had she got beat then it would not have been his fault but thankfully she was too strong”

Biagiotti is raced by popular New South Wales based breeder Etak Thoroughbreds who has been one of the Guy Stables foundation owners over the last few seasons and Co Trainer Daniel Guy commented after the race “Its great to train for Clients like Kate Nivison of Etak Thoroughbreds as she is a horse person that understands the ups and downs of racing and also has been very loyal to our stable given she is a NSW based client, in fact she is more then happy to race horses in Queensland and understands the benefits of racing horses north of the border”. Biagiotti has now taken her win total to 4 from 25 starts with 7 minor placing’s for just under $70 000 in prize money.
