Felino Bel had an overdue change of luck at Aquis Park at the Gold Coast Turf Club when taking out the Derby Day Moet Ice Party Fillies and Mares Class One Handicap. The daughter of Sun Stud’s champion stallion Bel Esprit jumped well from barrier 3 to settle just off the speed before gaining and inside run at the top of the straight and powered away for an easy one and a half length victory. Unlike her recent efforts luck was on her side today and the punters haven’t missed the recent unlucky runs sending the filly out a well-backed favorite.

Felino Bel was ridden by Jackson Morris in today’s event and he rode her to instructions with the pre race plan coming off perfectly “when Bryan rang me earlier in the week and asked me if I could ride her he told me that she would just win and boy was he right. Both Bryan and Daniel’s one instruction was to keep her out of trouble and she would win and I felt the win was never in doubt from the time the gates opened she travelled great in the run and let down well and gave me the feel there are more wins in her yet.

Winning Co Trainer Bryan Guy was a relieved man to finally see the filly return to the winners stall “all I can say is that is a relief, she has been racing well without much luck and we were starting to wonder if it was ever going to change, but thankfully it did and she won well. It was also good to see Jackson ride a winner for the stable; he has ridden a couple of good rides for us recently and been around the money without winning so it was overdue for both the horse and rider.

Felino Bel is raced by the Bain Family who have been in the winners stall recently with stable mate Robber’s Cobber and Co Trainer Daniel Guy was pleased to get another win for the Bain’s “Its great to train another winner for Bill and Lyn they are great people to train for and have been good supporters of the stable over the last twelve months and I hope that now Felino has had a confidence boost today she can go on with the job and put a few more wins on the board.

Should anybody have any enquires about having a horse trained by Bryan and Daniel Guy please call Bryan 0418 410 818 or Daniel 0417 281 381 for further information.
