NASHVILLE SKYLINE SINGS A WINNING TUNE
Aug 22, 2018
Nashville Skyline continued her successful return to racing recording back-to-back wins at only her third run since resuming from a spell when she took out the Ice And Beverage Solutions Fillies and Mares Class 3 Handicap at Aquis Park at the Gold Coast Turf Club this afternoon. The daughter of Not A Single Doubt made light work of the outside barrier when she began well and sat outside the leader before showing a nice turn of foot at the three hundred metre pole to record a tradesman like victory holding her rivals at bay over the concluding stages.
Winning Co Trainer Bryan Guy was confident the mare had improved since her second up win but was a little concerned about how the early part of the race would play out and where she would end up from the poor barrier “She had done great since her second up win and I was devastated on Monday when the barrier draw came out but Daniel and I sat down went through the race and devised a plan and thankfully jockey Shannon Doyle was able to execute it in style. She is a horse we have always thought something of and she is now starting to fulfil that early promise”.
Winning Jockey Shannon Doyle kept his perfect record intact on the mare recording his third win from three rides and was impressed with the turn of foot she showed when asked for her effort “I was worried prerace what the plan would be but Bryan and Daniel said be positive there doesn’t look much speed so I pushed forward and while she raced a little hard early she settled midrace and then showed a great turn of foot when asked. It was definitely an improvement on her last start win. I am thankful that I was able to get a city win for her connections, and she will win more races on today’s run.”
Nashville Skyline brought up a winning double for Aquis Farm and Co Trainer Daniel Guy quipped after the win “The Aquis Farm colours have gone from villain to hero in thirty five minutes as we thought we were home in the last race but they beat us so to go one better a race later and deliver Aquis Farm a double for the day was a nice way for us to finish off the day. On a serious note though it’s great to have the ongoing support of Aquis Farm they have been patient with this mare and Kacy Fogden and her team did a great job when she was out spelling and the proof of that is now showing”.
