VENDIDIT ARRIVES IN TIME
May 24, 2020
Vendidit headed to Ipswich today looking to make a winning debut and did so in taking out the Whittington @ Grandview Stud Maiden Plate on 1200 metres. The son of Hinchinbrook improved on his recent barrier trial to claim victory right on the line and gave Team Guy their first winner for powerful racing operation Orbis Bloodstock who have recently become clients of the stable.
Winning Co Trainer Bryan Guy was a relieved man that the stable was able to get the monkey off their back and train a winner for the stable’s newest clients “I am glad to get our first winner for Orbis, we have had four runners for them since Friday and we thought with an ounce of luck they would all be around the money and we have now had a winner, two seconds and a close up fourth. This gelding went great today he looks like he will get over further so he might have a nice future.”
Vendidit was ridden by Ryan Maloney today who was having his first ride on the horse and he explained after the race the gelding looks to have upside after not really knowing what he was doing “Bryan and Daniel told me to have him where he was comfortable so I just got him travelling and let him work his way into the race. I thought he might have given away to much start but he hit the line strongly and really didn’t know much about it which is a good sign for the horse when he learns what it’s about.”
Daniel Guy who co trains with his father Bryan said after the race that the stable came into today‘s race with a slight concern about the barrier but a brilliant ride from Ryan Maloney made light work of the sticky draw “That was a brilliant ride we were a bit worried about where he would land from the barrier but after the first one hundred and fifty metres he was able to find a position one off the fence and then the rest was up to the horse and thankfully he stuck his head out on the line to score a good debut win.”
Should anybody have any enquires about having a horse trained by Bryan or Daniel Guy please call Bryan 0418 410 818 or Daniel 0417 281 381 for further information.
