Game Of Dreams scored an all the way win at the Sunshine Coast Turf Club this afternoon. The son of Dream Ahead was having his fourth start on the heavy conditions and he was able to keep his perfect heavy track record in place after being driven to the front in the early section of the race and leading from that point on to score a strong tough win. Game Of Dreams benefited from a textbook ride from Tegan Harrison who was having her first ride on the horse today, but had ridden him to an easy trial win early in his preparation.
Winning trainer Bryan Guy was not surprised with the win explaining that the horse just needed things to go his way “His trial with Tegan aboard was great but his first two runs were only average and we put that down to him not racing well at the Gold Coast, then last start we stepped him up over a distance that was just too far but today’s distance looked ideal and when the rain came it all fell into place and what can you say about the ride other then ten out of ten, Tegan certainly made the difference.”
Winning jockey Tegan Harrison said after the win that Game Of Dreams showed a great deal of heart today and she felt like she always had the race in her keeping “Bryan told me to ride him like I rode him in the trial so I drove him to the front and from that point on I was confident that he would be too strong in the heavy conditions and it’s great to ride another winner for Bryan and Daniel.”
Co Trainer Daniel Guy was thankful that the owners had shown faith in the stables opinion of the horse “He has been a little while between wins which has been frustrating for the owners because he has been working well on the track and its great to see them rewarded for their patience today. The Hill family have been clients of the stable for just on twenty years so when you can win races for clients like that the win is just that little bit sweeter.”
