Nashville Skyline headed to Aquis Park at the Gold Coast Turf Club today looking to make a return to the winners stall and did so in fine style winning the Student Guild Fillies and Mares Handicap over 1400 metres. The daughter of Not A Single Doubt put the writing on the wall first up with a solid second placing when she was resuming from a spell and with natural improvement along with a weight drop, good barrier and an increase in distance the race looked like it would be ripe for the picking.

Winning Co Trainer Bryan Guy was a pleased man after the event not only with today’s win but the fact that the mare has had two runs since her break and with an ounce of luck could have been two from two “We thought she could win at Ballina but the big weight along with having to make a long run on the worst part of the track brought her undone so we thought that all things being equal she would get the money today. She has probably been a bit unlucky that her record isn’t a bit better she has run into horses like Shogun Sun and we also tried to stay with her last prep which with the benefit of hindsight was a mistake as we think a mile pulls her up”

Winning rider Shannon Doyle was reunited with the mare today for the first time since she won her maiden and was pleased to keep his perfect record intact “I am pleased that I was given another opportunity on Nashville Skyline she gave me a great feel when I won on her and to get her back into the winners circle was great. She is a nice mare she only does what you ask of her, Bryan and Daniel thought that she could win today and thankfully they were right and I doubt it will be the last time she visits the winners stall.”

Nashville Skyline also capped off a great day for her owner Aquis Farm who had four runners across the country for four winners and Co Trainer Daniel Guy acknowledged the importance of the Aquis brand to the stable “Dad and I are thrilled to get another winner and to see the Aquis colours salute for the stable is great as they are a big player not only in Queensland but across the country so to have them showing confidence in out stable is a real boost.”
