Promising Three Year Old Clearance Sale headed to the Sunshine Coast Turf Club today looking to replicate his impressive Eagle Farm Maiden victory late last month and the son of Hinchinbrook didn’t disappoint when he took out the Ray White Commercial Noosa Class One Plate. The gelding started an easing favorite but that didn’t stop him as he was able to score by just under half a length and went close to breaking the race record and also recorded the fastest last six hundred metre sectional of the day which was impressive considering it was only his fourth race start.

Co Trainer Bryan Guy went into today’s race with an air of confidence given his last start effort but thought that everything would have to go his way given the outside barrier draw “That was a good win he was ridden out of his pattern and still dug deep and was pulling away at the end. Ben rode the horse well he summed up the situation and was able to get the job done. He has now won two in a row and both from outside barriers and run good time on both occasions. I have a good opinion of the horse and if he pulls up well and does well he will now head to a Saturday city class race”

Clearance Sale was ridden again today by Ben Thompson and he explained after the race that he had only two instructions from Team Guy “Bryan and Daniel had two instructions before the race, the first was don’t get caught three deep and the second was just win and thankfully everything went well. I don’t think that is the way to ride him but the barrier dictated what had to be done, he is a better horse ridden off the speed like last start when he came from last and won. It’s usually a sign of a good horse when you can ride them out of their comfort zone and they still get the job done”

Team Guy have been enjoying a good run of late and Co Trainer Daniel Guy noted after the race that the stable has some nice prospects that look to have upside “The stable has been going well of late and it’s no doubt that the injection of new blood into the stable has made a big difference. We have some nice maiden gallopers who should go through their classes like this horse is doing. We have to say a big thanks to Orbis Bloodstock who own this horse along with a few other new owners to the stable because it has certainly made the job much easier of late.”
