Well bred gelding I Am Thirty started his racing career off in the best possible way by taking out the Two Year TAB Calcutta On Sale Maiden in fine style beating his nearest rival by one and a quarter lengths with a further four and a half lengths to the third horse. The son of I Am Invincible put the writing on the wall recently in a barrier trial when he defeated his rivals with a soft win and with that experience under his belt the gelding was able to settle second in running and then make his move at about the three hundred metre mark and never looked like being caught.

Winning Co Trainer Bryan Guy went into today’s race with an air of confidence after the barrier trial but did have a little hesitation when the final field was announced “I thought his trail was great and I felt he would be hard to beat when he went to the races but when the final field came out I thought it looked a very strong race on paper and it could easily end up one off those maidens that in six months time you look back at and see a heap of winners come out of it. But I shouldn’t have worried it was a soft win in the end and he looks to have a nice future”

I Am Thirty was ridden today by Ryan Maloney who was keen to stick with the gelding after his barrier trial recently and the move proved a good one with a well judged ride to get the best out of the horse and he explained after the race that there was still more in the tank and still improvement in the horse “That was a nice win today, I liked his trial and the fact that he did it so easily without really knowing much about it and today was an improvement on that but he still has improvement in him and when the penny drops he will be a very nice horse”

I Am Thirty was another winner for Orbis Bloodstock which have made a big impression on the Australian Racing Industry and have had a string of big race results in recent months and Co Trainer Daniel Guy is grateful to have the powerhouse group in the stable “It’s great to see Orbis Bloodstock win another race with the stable and they look to have a nice horse in the making with this fellow. They have had a few winners down south recently and up here as well so things are going well for them and hopefully this continues”
